A Montpellier (FRA) dal 03 al 09 maggio 2016, la nazionale italiana di karate fijlkam, pur conquistando 1 Oro 2 Argenti e 3 Bronzi, è 5° nel medagliere assoluto, subendo una piccola flessione in negativo rispetto agli europei del 2015 ad istambul (Turchia) che aveva ottenuto, il 4° posto nel medagliere, 2 Ori, (Luca Maresca-60 kg e Nello Maestri-84 kg), un Argento e 3 Bronzi.
Oro per Sara Cardin. argento per Stefano Maniscalco e Gianluca De Vivo. bronzo per Viviana Bottaro e Mattia Busato e la squadra di kata femminile composta da Viviana Bottaro, Sara Battaglia e Michela Pezzetti, nonostante l’impegno profuso, purtroppo quasi tutti gli altri azzurri, fuori al primo turno.
Per i prossimi importanti impegni la nazionale della fijlkam saprà sicuramente trovare gli stimoli giusti per arrivare al meglio ai mondiali di Linz (Austria), in programma dal 25 al 30 ottobre 2016.
