UMA NGB English Open 19-02-2011

 

The UMA NGB English Open IIII ‘All Styles’ Kata Championshipson Saturday 19th March 2011, are now in they’re fourth year, and growing each and ever year.

 

There is expected to be a minimum 250+ Kata Practitioners and Athletes Competing for Honours at this Prestigious Annual Open ‘All Styles’ Kata Championships.

 

There will be Players from all over the British Isles and throughout Europe attending and competing for Honours.

 

16 Kata Divisions with 46 Kata Brackets in Total for: Juniors, Seniors and Masters, from the age of 4 years old upwards.

 

All are welcome; Boys, Girls, Men and Women.

Everyone regardless of Association, Federation, National Governing Body, European or World Federation etc, are welcome to attend and participate.

 

The UMA NGB is a Non Interference and Non Political National Governing Body, hence why everyone one is welcome to partake, represent and compete for Honours at these Prestigious Open Kata Championships.

 

Every Player will perform Kata/s a minimum of twice in any one Division or Category.

 

  • Registration and Entry will be Open Online from 6pm Sunday 13th February 2011.

 

  • Closing Date is 6.00pm Sunday 13th March 2011.

 

  • No Registrations or Entries will be accepted after the Official Closing Date.

 

Please Note:

 

No Entries or Registrations will be taken After the Closing Date or on the Day of the Championships themselves either, so please ensure you Register and get your Entries in Online and on time and before the Official closing date.

 

All Registrations, Entries and Fees etc, must be completed and paid online and from the UMA NGB Websites Event Registration Page.

 

All Entries must be emailed back to the UMA NGB, no posted Entries and no posted Fees will be accepted, all Entries and Fees must be processed online from the UMA NGB Registration Page etc.

UMA NGB Team Trophy:

 

The Club with the most accumulated points scored from the 46 available Kata Brackets at the Championships will be Awarded the UMA NGB ‘Team Trophy’ for 2010.

 

1st Place Winner:        10 Points

2nd Place Runner Up: 4 Points

3rd Place:                     1 Point

 

·         All Kata Athletes must wear a clean Gi/Uniform.

 

·         All Kata Athletes must wear only a Red Belt/Obior Red Sashonly, No Other Coloured Belt/Obi or Sash is Allowed.

 

·         Individual Kata Athletes 4th Kyu and Below are allowed to perform any Kata they wish, but are advised to attempt a different Kata in the second round and/or a third and final round if required, if at all possible, but is not mandatory.

 

·         Individual Kata Athletes 3rd Kyu and Above are allowed to perform any Kata they wish, but must then perform a different Kata in the second round and/or a third and final round if required, this is mandatory.

 

·         Individual Musical Kata Athletes are allowed to perform any Musical Kata they wish, but are advised to attempt a different Musical Kata in the second round and/or a third and final round if required, if at all possible, but is not mandatory. (Please bring your Kata Music on an IPod or CD)

 

·         Individual Weapons Kata Athletes are allowed to perform any Weapons Kata they wish, but are advised to attempt a different Weapons Kata in the second round and/or a third and final round if required, if at all possible, but is not mandatory.

 

·         Individual Special Needs Kata Athletes are allowed to perform any Kata they wish, but are advised to attempt a different Kata in the second round and/or a third and final round if required, but is not mandatory.

 

·         2 Person Pairs Kata Athletes 4th Kyu and Below are allowed to perform any Kata they wish, but are advised to attempt a different Kata in the second round and/or a third and final round if required, if at all possible, but is not mandatory.

 

·         2 person Pairs Kata Athletes 3rd Kyu and Above are allowed to perform any Kata they wish, but must then perform a different Kata in the second round and/or a third and final round if required, this is mandatory.

 

·         3 Person Team Kata Athletes 4th Kyu and Below are allowed to perform any Kata they wish, but are advised to attempt a different Kata in the second round and/or a third and final round if required, if at all possible, but is not mandatory.

 

·         3 Person Team Kata Athletes 3rd Kyu and Above are allowed to perform any Kata they wish, but must then perform a different Kata in the second round and/or a third and final round if required, this is mandatory. Kata Bunkai is allowed, but for demonstration purposes only, and will not be scored, a maximum of 1 minute only is allowed for Kata Bunkai.

 

·         5 Person Team Kata Athletes are allowed to perform any Kata they wish, but are advised to attempt a different Kata in the second round and/or a third and final round if required, if at all possible, but is not mandatory.

 

Kata Points Scoring will be with either 3 or a maximum of 5 Kata Judges per Kata Contest Area.

 

Kata Points Scoring:

·         1st Round Average Score 5.0 (Down to 4.0 up to a maximum 6.0).

·         2nd Round (The Final) Average Score 6.0 (Down to 5.0 up to a maximum 7.0).

·         If required, a 3rd Round as the Final, Average Score 7.0 (Down to 6.0 up to a maximum of 8.0).

 

 

Note:All Kata Athletes will Perform Kata in Both the 1st and 2nd Round of they’re Particular Bracket/s Entered, the 2nd Round being the Final Round, however, if the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Winners cannot be decided from the 1st and 2nd Round Scores accumulated, then a 3rd and Final Round will be used to decide the eventual Three Winners.

Once the Winners have been presented with they’re Medals on the Contest Area by the Judges, the Athletes will be taken from the Contest area immediately to the Winners Podium for the Official Photographs, so please do not leave the Podium Area or get changed etc, until the Official Podium Photographs have been taken by the Official UMA NGB Championships Photographer.

 

All Winners Medals will be presented and Awarded after each and every Kata Category.

 

 

Free Coach’s Passes:

·         Less than 3 Athletes Entered and Competing per Club, the Coach must still pay the £5 Entry Fee (Payable on Entry)

·         3 to 7 Athletes per Club Entered and Competing = 1 Free Coach’s Pass.

·         8 to 12 Athletes per Club Entered and Competing = 2 Free Coach’s Passes.

·         13 to 17 Athletes per Club Entered and Competing = 3 Free Coach’s Passes.

·         18 to 22 Athletes per Club Entered and Competing = 4 Free Coach’s Passes.

·         23 + Athletes per Club Entered and Competing = 5 Free Coach’s Passes.

 

 

Individual Kata - Junior Athlete Entry Fees:

Juniors 15 years old and under.

  • One Athlete Entering One Individual Kata Bracket £12 per Athlete (Payable Online Only).
  • One Athlete Entering Two Individual Kata Brackets £20 per Athlete (Payable Online Only).
  • One Athlete Entering Three Individual Kata Brackets £25 per Athlete (Payable Online Only).
  • One Athlete Entering Four Individual Kata Brackets £30 per Athlete (Payable Online Only).

 

Individual Kata - Senior and Masters Athlete Entry Fees:

Seniors and Masters years old and over.

  • One Athlete Entering One Individual Kata Bracket £15 per Athlete (Payable Online Only).
  • One Athlete Entering Two Individual Kata Brackets £25 per Athlete (Payable Online Only).
  • One Athlete Entering Three Individual Kata Brackets £30 per Athlete (Payable Online Only).

2 Person Pairs Kata Entry Fee:

  • £15 per Pairs Team (Payable Online Only)

5 Person Team Kata Entry Fee:

  • £35 per Team (Payable Online Only).

 

 

Spectator Entry Fees:

  • Children 4 to 15 years old: £4 per person (Payable on Entry).
  • Adults 16 years old and over: £5 per person (Payable on Entry).

 

Recording Equipment Registration and Pass:Free

  • Please fill out One Form for each Person who will be using Recording equipment at the Championships.

 

The Venue has Free On-Site Parking, Café, Separate Male and Female Changing Rooms, Showers, Toilets and Lockers.

 

The Main Hall where the Championship is taking place has Bleacher Seating for Spectators and Athletes.

 

There will be a minimum of four 8m x 8m Fully Matted Kata Contest Areas in Play at any one time throughout the Day of the Championships.

 

·         Venue Opens at 08.00am.

 

·         Spectator and Athlete Registration and Entry Opens at 08.30am.

 

·         Kata Competition and Eliminations Starts at 09.30am.

 

·         Championships Completed and Finished on or before 5.30pm.
