Sea, wind, salt, Mediterranean scents, palms, roses and evergreen plants, relaxation, entertainment
and companionship are just a few of the words to easily introduce Portorož, a sea resort in the heart
of Europe. The intermingling of various cultures and musical styles, nature, culinary delights and
turbulent historical events have all created an atmosphere in which the tensions and stress of
everyday life simply disappear in a relaxed state of mind.
The relaxing stroll on the shoreline, a recuperating run along the beach, swimming in the sea and
pools, beauty and health programmes in spas, as well as sports and recreational activities – they all
fill us with new energy. Today Portorož is a popular place either for work, sport, vacation and
entertainment.

For all categories federations can only register 4 (four) competitors per category for Kata and for
Individual Kumite. For Team Competition (kata and kumite) federations can only register 1 (one)
team per category.
Kumite competitors could can register in “Shobu Sanbon” or “Shobu Ippon” not both. Kumite
competitors could can register in “Shobu Sanbon Teams” or “Shobu Ippon Teams” not both.
Kata competitors can register in one style only.

REFEREES SEMINAR
Each federation is asked to bring at least one referee, who will participate in the seminar and work
during the competition (mandatory). At the end of the competition all referees and judges will
receive a certificate of participation and a certificate with the qualification acheived. Referees and
Judges who possess a qualification from other international federations, IKU will recognise their
qualification with a corresponding IKU qualification.
COACHES SEMINAR
All coaches must attend the seminar (mandatory). Coaches who do not take part in the seminar will
not be able to enter into the competition areas.
INSCRIPTIONS
All federations can make the inscriptions On-Line, on the site www.internationalkarateunion.org To
do this you need to send a request by Email (specify the name of your federation) to
info@internationalkarateunion.org
You will then be sent a LOGIN NAME and PASSWORD.
Entries to the competition will be open from 15th April and will
close on 30th of May 2013.
Federations can edit their entries before the championship, in the hall for registration and weighing
checks (6th to 7th June 2013). It is mandatory that the legally responsible person for each
federation shall bring the competitors passports to the Registration Room for the official check of the
competitors ages. All competitors must come for weigh-in check in the Registration Room, together
with their legally responsible person and their passports.

Referees Seminar: free – Coach Seminar: free
The fees for participation must be paid in cash (only euro). Please exchange your national
currency before coming to the registration room.
