Dear Friends,

We would like to invite you the 23rd British International Karate Open and its new home the UEL Sportsdock, Docklands Campus, University Way, London E16 2RD.

These championships are truly Open to all club/association teams and individuals of all bonfide karate associations regardless of their current affiliation.

The UEL Sportsdock is the same venue that England are hosting the 2014 IKU European Cadet/ Junior Karate Championships and IKU World Games for Children. So attending the British Open would be great preparation for all delegations to get know the venue and the surrounding area.

All entries and payment must be in by the closing date of 30 August which is 2 weeks before the championships. Entry and Payment can only be made via the KSE website: www.karatesportengland.co.uk where you can register ONLINE and make your ONLINE PAYMENT (Please note any alternative payment method must be with the written consent of event organisers, All cheques must be cleared before the date the championships). This is important so that we can finalise all category changes and order medals and trophies and complete the competition draws.

Coaches are reminded of their responsibility and the importance of insurance cover for all competitors. By signing entry forms Coaches will be confirming they have seen all current registration/licence slips which include insurance cover for the named competitors. Therefore we look forward to seeing you all on the 13 September 2014 at the UEL Sportsdock, London in this new era of the British International Karate Open. Individual Entry Fees: £15 per category (kata or Kumite)

Team Entry Fees: £30 per category (kata or kumite)

SPECTATOR Fees: Adults: £10.00 – Children: £5.00 (under 12)

9.30am-2pm: All individual / team Kata – eliminations/Finals

1pm-2pm – Weigh-in for all Cadet/Senior Kumite events

1pm-2pm – All Cadets & Senior Male/Female Team Kumite Events

2pm-8pm –All Cadets (14/15 & 16/17yrs) Male/Female Individual Kumite

All Senior/Veterans Male/Female Individual Kumite

8pm: Finish

(All Competitors must be in the main hall at least 1 hour before the scheduled time of Events/Categories)

This event is open all karate and Martial Arts individuals plus club, Association and National Federation teams. All Individual categories must have a minimum of 8 participants or they will be amalgamated or cancelled. All Team categories must have a minimum of 4 participating teams or they will be amalgamated or cancelled. We have listed Shitoryu, Shotokan & Wado-ryu kata sections as these are the only styles entered last year but if other styles enter the minimum 8 participants we will add a sections for them.
